Welcome!

Welcome PostWelcome to my brand new website, and thank you so much for checking it out!

After over a year of building this thing, I can’t believe I’m actually writing this. Whilst long overdue, I decided in the beginning that I wanted this site to be 99% my work rather than get someone else to create it for me. I wanted to learn how to build the entire site myself so that I understood how to modify, update and add things as I saw fit in the future, and hopefully use it as a learning opportunity. I mean how hard could it be to create a site that contains everything that I want it to, and looks the way I imagined?

Well, being the perfectionist that I am, apparently it takes a whole lot longer than I had originally anticipated… That said, I couldn’t be happier with how it’s turned out. And the fact that I’m officially launching it today on my birthday makes it even more special.

Thanks to Vince Zickefoose for all his coding expertise when I ran into trouble!

My intention is for this site to serve a few purposes:

  • Firstly, I designed it to be an up to date online “portfolio” for everything that my life/career has and will entail, that I can easily add to when new projects come about, or if I delve into any new ventures.
  • Secondly, I wanted the site to be a “hub” of sorts for all of my social media activity, so I’ve integrated my Twitter, Instagram and YouTube feeds for easy access to each. I’ve also included a link to my Discord server, and the site will even notify you if you visit and I’m currently live on Twitch!
  • Finally, I hope to write regular-ish blog posts (much like this one) when the inspiration strikes, or simply when I have something “long-form” to say. You are more than welcome to subscribe to the simple mailing list that will notify you via email when I publish a new post using the small form on the right hand side (or possibly beneath if you’re on a mobile device) of this page.

I’m sure that a few of the site’s pages will change over the next little while as I discover small bugs/glitches (let me know if you find one!) and possibly add some content that didn’t make the cut for the first iteration, but for the most part, I’m so proud to finally have a site that’s worth sharing!

I’d love to hear your thoughts on it too, so please feel free to use the form below to comment on this post.

Once again, thank you so much for visiting my new site!
